Dental and Maxillofacial Surgery
OPD runs 2:30 pm to 3:00 pm.
We treat teeth, gums, jaws and the face: fillings, extractions and routine dental care at one end, and surgery on the jaw and facial bones after an injury or for cleft lip and palate at the other. Our OPD runs 2:30 pm to 3:00 pm.
We have three consultants. Two specialise in oral and maxillofacial surgery, which is surgery of the jaw and face, and our senior consultant also treats cleft lip and palate. We have operation theatres, consultant anaesthetists, CT scanning and inpatient beds.
Free cleft lip and cleft palate surgery
We are one of three Smile Train partner hospitals in Bihar, and through this partnership cleft lip and cleft palate surgery at our hospital is free. Our cleft surgeon, Dr. (Major) Anjani Kumar Jha, leads our Smile Train programme. In the 2026 state cleft surgery drive of Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK), Bihar, we ranked first in the state. Bring the child to our dental OPD.

When to seek emergency care
Toothache that keeps you awake or has not settled with painkillers, swelling of the face or gum, bleeding gums, or difficulty opening the mouth needs a dental OPD visit.
A tooth knocked out, broken or loosened by an injury, or an injury to the jaw or face, should not wait for the dental OPD. A knocked-out permanent tooth needs care at once. Come to our emergency department.
Facial swelling that is spreading, or that makes swallowing or breathing difficult, is an emergency. Come to our emergency department at once, not the dental clinic, or call 1800 345 7777.
