We treat the ear, nose and throat: hearing loss and ear discharge, a blocked nose and sinus trouble, tonsils, a hoarse voice, and anything stuck where it should not be. Our OPD runs 2:30 pm to 3:00 pm.
One consultant ENT surgeon sees patients here. We have a 24-hour emergency department, operation theatres, consultant anaesthetists, CT scanning and inpatient beds.
Conditions we treat
- Ear discharge and ear infection
- Hearing loss
- Blocked nose and sinus problems
- Nosebleeds
- Tonsil and adenoid problems, including repeated throat infection in children
- Hoarseness and other voice changes
- Dizziness coming from the inner ear
- A foreign body in the ear, nose or throat
- Snoring and disturbed breathing in sleep
- Deep neck infection
When to seek emergency care
Hearing that has been slowly getting worse, ear pain or discharge, a blocked nose that has not cleared in weeks, a hoarse voice lasting more than three weeks, or a lump in the neck needs an OPD visit.
Hearing loss that comes on suddenly, in one ear or both, needs to be seen the same day. Do not wait for an OPD appointment: come to our emergency department.
Difficulty breathing or swallowing, a nosebleed that will not stop with pressure, or something stuck in the throat is an emergency. Come to our emergency department at once or call 1800 345 7777.
